Services has an exciting opportunity for a full time MRI
Technologist Level II in Deerfield. The incumbent is responsible
for performing complex procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI) through the operations of the MRI equipment to obtain the
highest quality of diagnostic images. Independent judgment,
ingenuity, and initiative are essential to identify and compensate
for imaging artifacts and evaluate image quality by troubleshooting
scanner or coil problems and scan parameters. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Obtains and examines the order for an MRI scan to be aware of
information such as procedures requested, patient’s condition, and
any other special notes or comments. Performs MRI diagnostic
studies with minimum to no supervision. Perform research exams as
needed by the department. Ensures that orders are appropriate to
the type of exam recommended by the physician. Notifies supervisor
of any discrepancies and/or contacts physician’s office for correct
orders if necessary. Identifies patient service requirements by
establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients
and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Identify patients by checking their name and date of birth on the
electronic medical record and the patient’s wristband. Always
obtain necessary MR procedure-related information from patients or
their companions and educate/inform patients as needed. Perform
complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of MRI
scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed safety
procedures under the direction/supervision of a Radiologist using
age-appropriate standards of practice. Ability to integrate
diagnostic, laboratory results, patient history, and medical
records and adapt exams as necessary. Adheres to MRI protocols to
maintain high-quality standards. Consistently demonstrates complete
competence in performing MRI scans as ordered. As needed during a
procedure, assists in positioning patients in the required
anatomical position to visualize the specific area of interest
during the procedure using immobilization and protective equipment
as necessary. Maintain proper aseptic technique utilizing universal
precaution guidelines (handwashing, gloves, gown, mask, eye
protection, and equipment disinfection). Assist Radiologist with
imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast. If
applicable. Assist Radiologist with interventional MRI procedures.
If applicable. Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, and
collate processed/post-processed images in a specific sequence to
be archived to PACS. Charge procedures and supplies in
UChart/Radiant. Dispenses oral contrast to patients for MRI scans.
Loads and operates power injectors for contrast media
administration. Maintain accurate patient records. Provide
explanations of treatment to gain patient cooperation by educating
and explaining step by step the entire procedure and allowing
patients to ask questions. Applies physical age-specific and/or
developmental care needs of patients according to their documented
physical/development requirements by competency validation
checklist: Children Adolescents Adults Geriatric
Challenged/Disabled Performs patient care i.e., assists with
bedpans, emesis basins, etc. Assumes care for physical and
psychological needs of the patient during scanning procedures;
initiates basic life support (BLS) measures for patients if
necessary; assists in “Code Blue” procedure during medical
emergencies in the department. Keeps work area in a clean and
sanitary condition and stocks exam/dressing rooms with required
supplies. Provides on-call coverage. If applicable. Reports unusual
findings in a timely manner to appropriate Radiologist/Supervisory
personnel. Assist in the department with clerical functions as
needed. Help with orientation and training of new MRI
technologists. Provides education and training to MRI student
technologists. Abide by hospital/department HR policy and standard
operating procedures (SOP) of the department. Adheres to any
regulatory body guidelines governing modality including but not
limited to Joint Commission, AHCA, ACR, FL DOH, and FDA/MQSA.
Assist with the day-to-day operations within the department. This

responsibilities as necessary. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: A
high school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of an
accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program.
Certification and Licensing: BLS certification is required. ARRT
registered and ARRT Certified in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
State of Florida License as a General Radiographer preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Skill in completing assignments
accurately and with attention to detail. Ability to analyze,
organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting
deadlines. Ability to process and handle confidential information
with discretion. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as
