About the Role: The Automotive Repair Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of vehicles by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various automotive systems. This position requires a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of modern vehicles to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues. The technician will work closely with customers to explain necessary repairs and provide accurate estimates, fostering trust and satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves staying current with evolving automotive technologies and repair techniques to deliver high-quality service. Ultimately, the technician contributes to the overall success of the service department by maintaining efficient workflow and adhering to safety and quality standards. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited automotive technology program or equivalent hands-on experience. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance. Basic knowledge of diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Preferred Qualifications: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent. Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle systems. Familiarity with manufacturer-specific diagnostic software. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment. Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks including engine work, brake systems, transmission services, and electrical system troubleshooting. Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle conditions, repair options, and cost estimates to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, share technical knowledge, and uphold safety standards within the workshop environment. Skills: The required skills enable the technician to accurately diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, ensuring safety and performance standards are met. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment is essential for efficient troubleshooting and maintenance. Preferred skills such as ASE certification and knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles enhance the technician’s ability to handle advanced automotive technologies. Strong communication skills are used daily to explain complex technical information to customers in an understandable manner, fostering trust and satisfaction. Additionally, teamwork and adaptability skills support a collaborative workshop environment, promoting continuous learning and operational efficiency.
