Job Description:
Assist Project Manager in selecting projects for inclusion in
the Storm Hardening Program. Perform pre-engineering field inspections to
assess potential issues that could affect design or construction and to
ensure understanding of the project objectives. Provide a preliminary
work breakdown structure (via Work Requests) for each project for
both overhead and underground components. Evaluate each project for
permitting requirements and assist local permit coordinators and
environmental coordinators, including Department of Environmental Protection
(DEP) and Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE) permits. Create Contract
Engineering requests through Work Management System (WMS) for all Work
Requests explaining Scope of Work requirements for each project. Update
work requirements in WMS to Program Manager for assignment to the
engineering vendor. Coordinate and lead pre-engineering design meetings with
the engineering vendor, including review of Scope of Work and
project- specific parameters. Coordinate pre-construction design meetings with
engineering and construction vendors to review designs for constructability
and any required changes or updates. Ensure engineering and construction
vendors maintain standards, scheduling requirements, and make
efficiently use of resources. Provide oversight throughout a project‘s design
and construction phases, including final review and acceptance of
designs from the engineering vendor. Coordinate all customer-driven inquiries
regarding projects and work with all project stakeholders to resolve
issues or questions. Create, update, and manage project database to
monitor a project’s completion steps. Ensure all safety rules and
regulations are ap applied at all times inside and outside of facilities. Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering
Technology or rela related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
plus 2 years of e of experience performing electrical distribution engineering
supporting stor storm hardening programs/projects. Or, alternatively, a
Bachelor's degree and and 4 years of experience as noted above. Also requires: 1) Demonstrated expertise leveraging knowledge of
Work Ma Management System (WMS), Design Manager (DM) System, and Pole
Foreman mo modeling software in support of distribution engineering
projects with an em emphasis in storm hardening; 2) Demonstrated expertise
leveraging knowledge of of Overhead & Underground Distribution Design and of The
National El Electrical Safety Code (NESC) in support of distribution
engineering pr projects with an emphasis in storm hardening; and 3)
Demonstrated expertise in in the application process for environmental and local/city
